The Bottom Bracket Returns

Posted on

I’m thilled with the new bottom brackets for Woodie’s Hanger 1 and 2. They’ve come back from the manufacturer (UK) crystal clear and stronger than ever.

Flexi-bracket

Using two top flexi-brackets worked really well, but I was worried about the stress on the bottom one, especially if it was hung horizontally. I’ve stuck with the rubber stopper instead of a return to the old foam chock. I just think that it is cleaner and discreet. If you need any extras, they’re available from good hardware stores, such as B&Q – look for cabinet feet, or stoppers.

Showing the brackets

We worked closely with PSI Global to make our hangers extra-secure and give you peace of mind. They’re wider at the base of the arm, and ribbed for a stronger support. The brackets are less flexible, so they support a guitar in the horizontal position, and they wont snap (see my up coming posts about NAMM 2010, just to prove a point).

It’s also worth a mention that I drove a Range Rover over one, but it bent. So I wouldn’t advise you try to hang a range rover from them. That won’t work.

Over the next few weeks I will update the videos for fixing, but for now, remember that if the bracket has two holes in it, then it’s the bottom bracket and it supports the weight of the guitar. You’re a clever bunch, so you’ll figure it out.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be combining my other employment as a writer, and posting more to the news section. NAMM 2010 was particularly interesting as Scott and I were in the midst of setting up and we really were clueless. We’d put it all on the line and… well, that’s a story for next week.

I’d like to wish you all a happy New Year, and thank you for your support.

Adrian
